This cross and chain have 3 layers of 24 kt gold heat bonded on to the precious metal so it has alot of high grade gold in it. Did a magnet test and it fell right off of it. Don't know if you know anything about a magnet test but when any jewelery is just plated it will stick to a magnet real quick and stay there if it's real or has alot of gold or silver in it it won't stick to the magnet. This is a beutiful crusifix cross necklace and or has alot of real gold in it and the prices of gold, silver even stainless steel has went up over 75% in the past year so this is a really good deal.
